NoCO2 Chair by Peter Danko Design
Simply One of the Coolest Chairs You'll Own:
A floating seat and seat-back, each one made from ply-bent ash and suspended on die-cut rubber joints from automobile tires, the NoCO2 is a marriage of ergonomics and eco-savvy. Supports are molded to form a firm, comfortable hold, with beautifully finished thin veneers of white ash, American walnut, mahogany, or Macassar ebony dressing the ply-bent ash core. Making rigid pieces by this method reduces total wood consumption by a tremendous percentage, while the re-purposing of tires adds an extra element of environmental stewardship, not to mention the fantastic user experience of how these seat and back joints float to accommodate a continuously comfortable user experience. The platform beneath these components is powder-coated steel tubing.
Already this chair is among our most popular, and with good reason. We love to use this design around our offices, too, just to enjoy its freedom of movement. And, like we expect from a quality seat touted for its versatility in both home and commercial applications, the NoCO2 is both lightweight and stackable—quite an uncommon feat for something so nice.
